I agree completely with everything you’ve said here, even though I am unashamedly from the camp that believes the evolution and rightful future of humanity is in technology. The problem I think is we began misusing technology when we started to use it only to maximise profit, at the expense of humanity. Now the challenge is to reposition it. Real value is that which adds to humanity. Systems which don’t do that need to be thrown on the scrapheap as lessons learned, and new systems designed to replace them. The problem is, new systems need to be in place to offer alternatives, and the capitalists so far seem reluctant to fund those.
