I agree completely, thanks for posting. I hope the object is not to blame technology though. I am a techie myself, and to me it is clear that technology used in a specific, different way, is the way out.
To explain why/how requires me to try to condense information gathered over around seven years of my research to date, not easy, in a single response.
The best way I think is to liken the lifecycle of our species to that of any other living entity, we spend some time in pre-birth, then the remainder of our lives as growing beings, becoming adults, ideally adding value all of our lives, at least after birth.
When we look at the handling of energy pre-birth, and after birth, it is distinctly different.
Take a tree for example, a new tree shoot draws energy from the Earth until it begins to sprout leaves, and after that contributes energy to Earth, from the energy it collects from the sun via its leaves. The energy to grow the shoot travelled in the opposite direction, upwards, from that which the tree finally conducts from the sun to Earth, downwards.
We might define the directional energy flow through the tree as positive and negative.
Negative, is energy taken from Earth, whilst positive is energy contributed to Earth.
This looks remarkably similar to me, if we compare with the history of humanity, we might notice that all of the energy we've used to date is negative, from Earth, just like the tree shoot.
And again like the tree shoot, we are right now beginning to sprout leaves in the form of solar farms, all over the world.
So our energy handling is right now in transition, from negative, soon to be positive.
To me this explains completely what I call "The Grand Energy Ponzi".
Underlying it all is our economy, and the way we handle money.
Money to us, is like the nutrients of the tree, we use it to convey energy between one another.
So in order for the money to convey energy from the sun, it has to come to represent the Joules of energy received from the sun.
And it will, it seems to me, nature is forcing our hand in that, we can't get around it, just like a tree can't refuse to allow the energy to change direction, and a human baby can't refuse to breath when its umbilical is cut, and a chicken can't refuse to peck its way out of an egg.
All of them, including our species, can't refuse to be born.
The good news is, after our species is born is when all the best stuff happens, because after that is when we will see no longer any such thing as scarcity, all things will be unlimited for all practical purposes, we will grow to a size dwarfing the original pre-birth species, and everything we do will be contributing positively to the energy of Earth, no longer subtracting from it.
That is how it looks to me.
