Hi Adam, astonishingly, Bitcoin has a mechanism baked in that automatically ramps up the computation power needed to create each Bitcoin, as a function of the history of the coins already mined. So we might conclude the creator(s) of it absolutely did think of everything (How could they have known?!?)

On a global power grid; that would be the only way to obtain continuous solar power for all things regardless of geographical location, without need for batteries, which have an incredibly damaging appetite for rare Earth elements.

On the practicalities of power transmission, we do have superconducting transmission line technology, yes expensive, but free with free money! as also would be fuelling all combustion engines with hydrogen (Those with fuel tanks still fly much better than anything electric, carrying batteries).

For sure we'll never beat plants as the original solar energy wealth converters, but we can always aspire with some good Engineering, to be more like them, I would say, of course we should channel some of the new free wealth towards regenerating all of them.

I agree too Interplanetary travel would be really cool, a worthy ambition, but hopefully not to go plunder those places also.

It might be that nature has its own way of teaching us that lesson before we are ever allowed to "Go forth"

I like to think so :)
