Hehe this was hilarious, and so very much on point.
Of course it could be all BS, if in the end we don't get to the Nirvana - sustainability, rather than destruction, which is what we are headed to as stands.
On the other hand it could be research information, preserving forever the path we took towards realisation of the truth.
Currently there are bills to be paid to maintain all of this information, bills which are exponentially increasing as the cost of extracted energy gets higher and higher, as the energy depletes.
So one day Medium might be bankrupt, same as all business for profit has to go bankrupt, when availability of all energy drops below profitability.
With bills unpaid, and no other energy source to keep the servers powered up, it could all get switched off, deleting everything.
Then it would be written off as BS, all of it.
But if the platform got solar powered, the story might be very different. Then we might see all this was research, vaiuable research.
I kind of hope we'll see it is.
BTW computation of Landauer's principle would be interesting, to gauge the sudden temperature rise associated with deletion of all that information, 0.69 x Boltzman's constant in degrees C increase for every binary bit deleted... the planet would probably instantly burst into flames...
