Hehe that is a cool idea, I have to admit I wasn't expecting we would need to cut down that much, reversible hydrogen fuel cells now can provide cheap backup, so solar can now work overnight, but big oil doesn't want to publicise that. However, it looks like if we went flat out in UK implementing solar from tomorrow, we would still only get to about 50% existing capacity by next winter, so turning everything off at night might be a good idea until we get fully scaled up.

They've been talking about nuclear here, but that is crazy, seven and a half years to first get the first sniff of power from it.... whilst inflation goes crazy.... no chance of completion I would say, investor funds will devalue long before then.
