Hehe still you don't drop the Renewable energy term :) You know, we are so close to agreeing on everything here, it seems a shame to differ on details, with the consequence of such different (Opposite) outcomes; survival vs extinction, of our species. As a technologist myself, a systems Engineer, I am frequently tasked with managing complexity, of course you might think I am biased. It depends on our definition of technology. Nature itself is technology, that our human version of technology just tries to emulate, and work with. Finance is technology. Rubbing two sticks together to create fire is technology. Technology is science, including the science that makes us aware there is an environmental problem. Technology is education. I challenge any human to identify exactly which parts of their own lives and thinking, are not a direct result of technology.
Technology is the solving of problems using every means available to us, and we are facing the biggest challenge of our history as a species, so of course we will only solve it with technology.
What has taken us to the wrong place is profit driving all things. That is bad technology. To fix it, we just need to eliminate the mechanisms of profit.
Free money, sourced from monetised sunlight, the only source of live energy is key.
