This is brainstorming! A cardinal rule in brainstorming is no ideas are to be shot down, everyone is encouraged to pitch in everything they can think of, the crazier the better.

Cool lots of folk are talking about space beams too, though I doubt we will see them put to use for ground energy supply, ground based solar is already eating up the utilities industry.

But here is my contribution to the brainstorm; I think we need weapons up there, and that beam sounds just the job, not for humans, but for some other real ogres that could be out there!
