Having the intelligence to be able to question our own beliefs is a gift unique to humans that we don’t exercise nearly enough, in my opinion.
There are formal methods of doing it in the discipline of Systems Modelling, where we model the system of modelling itself, known as meta-modelling, where we see a need to do that.
After all, our reality is only a model of reality, it can never be perfect, but it can always be improved.
