Happened to me too in the seventies, only I was about 9, 1972, four kids in a car on an empty country road plowed into the back of me, wrecked my bike, impact threw me over a hedge, and I was uninjured, just screaming with rage. I think it was a genuine accident though, cars were not very accurate in those days, especially budgets cars, at least in UK, they wandered all over the road, even driven by the best drivers, and everybody was drunk anyway. The kids that hit me looked genuinely shaken and sorry, they drove me home which was about twenty miles away. I eventually got a new bike, I don't think they would even have had insurance to pay for it, it never even occurred to me or my mom we could have asked, I think we were just grateful I was still alive and well.
