Guilty as charged Cory, I live in UK, and confirm pretty much everything you are saying is true, though it stings a little, it is sobering to hear it coming from an external observer, thanks for posting.
I can tell you during Covid we were looking at the US and feeling a little superior, because it was you guys who were looking to be heading down the plug-hole before us, if followed by us shortly after. Now it looks like us first.
I hate to say this, but to me the US helped put us where we are at. The Ukraine war is very very deeply involvied in not only our predicament, but that of the whole of Europe, much more so than Brexit. tt was the US who lead that very locally damaging, aggressive response to Russia. We had to pitch in with you as always, when weapons were sent and sanctions imposed, but no surprise the US will do its usual distancing of itself from the problem, and all associated allies, after it becomes clear there is nothing more to be gained from further involvement, like all of the other conflicts it has led in recent history.
If anyone is enjoying our predicament, it will be Russia most of all.
