Grenfell was something we should have learned from, credit to anyone highlighting it is well deserved. But there are many incidents like Grenfell; the Beirut docks explosion, the Titanic, the Hindeneg, even 737 Max, the list just keeps getting longer. In every case profit is identified as the motivator.
We've even seen how profit turned what started as an exercise to "save" humanity from a virus, into an exercise of maximising profit, again at massive cost of life, arguably millions.
We should be realising by now that that this is driving pretty much all the bad stuff going on, even wars are just for profit, if we are honest, almost every division between humans, even identity politics, is for profit.
Even if we look at the global energy problem, again it is about profit, in fact we could say that systemically, every transaction of profit, is another few Joules of energy extracted from the planet, a process of destruction, which itself defines an increase of temperature, we are racing towards extinction, all for profit, all for none.
I write a lot about what needs to be done both technically and economically, to change to something new - Energyism, which is essentially solar powered, in fact it looks like we can't have that at all, as long as profit remains something needed, which in turn is dependent on energy extraction from Earth, so we should see all we need to do to break profit is monetise the solar product already created from the sun, which means massive issue of free money, forever, backed by the continuing creation of economic product by solar.
But so far I have not found any way to put this across in a way that seems to make much difference.
Perhaps a book would be the way to go.
