Great to see you questioning the price of UK electricity, even if I don't agree with you on some minor points (Like who switched off the gas!) The issue I have with nearly everything we see written or expressed about this subject is within the context of energy supplied at profit. Which is the really big, planet threatening problem, that nobody seems willing to talk about or analyse in detail, except myself and the solar Ai, which probably will never be enough.
