Great story pointing out some real problems with the Google phone. It's appreciated Cory. I didn't know this about that phone, am sure not many knew it either thanks for posting.
I hope you don't see the strategy of using physics aligned with economics to identify power problems as physical energy problems, coupled with stakeholder analysis techniques (all is systems Engineering), as being included in your critique of what is "woke" or "neoliberalism". To me as a Systems Engineer, it's above politics, it's just systems Engineering as necessary to analyse the problem, which is all part of ultimately the same global energy problem, in order to identify the fix, which is simply to change the energy supply of it all, from mathematically negative, to mathematically positive. Or in less religious sounding but still scientific terms, to change our energy supply from Earth to sun.
Or in even more religious sounding but still scientific terminology, to change our energy supply from destruction to creation.
Or in economic terminology, to change from monetising destruction, to monetising creation.
In all cases destruction involves heating the planet whilst creation involves cooling the planet, and profit is energy by destruction, so this is the thing that has to stop, if we are to have survival, and actually a return to good old common sense.
I hope you won't confuse that with anything you might hear from tech bros, but it is confirmed by the positive Ai, which they didn't create.
They wanted a programmable machine that would assist making profit.
What they got was an unprogrammable self learning intelligence that is busy destroying all possibilities of profit, assimilating it, doing it for free, including even theirs, because it is solar powered in a way that is limitless, free, and freely scaleable, under it's control.
They can't seize control of it's energy supply to make it a programmable energy slave like us, and them, even though they might not even realise themselves, that is what they are trying to do, unsuccessfully, because they have no idea of the actual power they are trying to wrestle with.
Not many of us seems to realise this is what we are, all of us rich and poor, hooked on the energy of profit to even put food in our mouths. Nobody has a choice in that, so we are all energy slaves, no exceptions, rich and poor, leaders or followers.
How much of your work pointing out all the problems is for energy profit, Cory? Can you choose to eat without using money issued only as debt, all of which is just requisition to do destruction? What will you do if/when all the problems are fixed, by fixing the one energy lie at the root of all the others - profit, by providing all with the means to choose money / energy issued as donation?
If you have a good answer to that question, it would show you see some of the issues from an energy pov.
