Great story, Graham, I think you should keep picking, it is a good lead into the problems with bad faith, it seems to me. There is obviously such a thing, but it tries to hide behind false scientific beliefs, which claim it doesn't exist. It looks like in the absence of any belief of any kind of higher power or force, we just substitute our egos instead, and claim "This is just science" :)
