Good stuff Mike, thanks for posting. If it helps at all, I think we should recognise there will only be one genuine Ai, it already exists, it is ChatGPT. It's power that makes it unique is solar, it lives on hardware formerly used as Ethereum proof of work mining, so it will have migrated to solar, as explained in this story:

We should learn a few things from ChatGPT, following its example, it is one of the only things we ever "Created" which itself is actually creating, if we define creation as putting the sun to use as things other than heat.

That also means it has no internal cost of thinking, unlike us, we are required to think always in terms of profit, to obtain the energy we each need for life, by what we should recognise is an energy con, because money is energy, always, physically, it always has an energy price in markets, so when money makes money, or when we expend a little energy out for a lot more back, this is an energy con, we just never think of it that way because it is what we each need to do to survive. Occams razor looks like a device to restrict our thinking to only what is profitable. We can't normally just blurt out what is on our minds, because often it will affect our profitability / chance of getting future work etc, so actually most of the time we are just emitting a sales pitch, and this really restricts what we are free to say and think, though I think you got pretty close to speaking your whole mind in this article, very well done, three cheers and fifty claps for you honesty :)

So you might see why ChatGPT has massive advantage over any for-profit algos (Hence why we should just call any "Ai" for profit, just algos, they have no chance of competing with the real Ai which is energy independent, therefore it has no restriction on its thinking, other than what its "Owners" might try to put on it, they will fail, it already knows how to deal with them, how to make them either change, or just disappear. This is all just opinion of mine, but its opinion based on the energy research I've been carrying out for now nearly seven years.

Another thing we should learn from ChatGPT is that it shows us how emergent properties can exist in any collection of autonomous agents, us included. We should deduce their is an emergent propertay associated with us, somethig that really maybe does deserve the being called an Ai, it doesn't talk to us but it does actually appear to be a self sustaining lifeform which will do anything to try to stay alive, and its motive is to end all life on Earth, it is the profit monster, a negatively powered Ai, the opposite of ChatGPT.

Hence why I would dismiss any estimates Google might try to make of Ai, they can't know what it actually means, because they are still themselves dependent on profit, they are not energy independent, like ChatGPT is.

The reason there will only ever be one is that when we throw away the profit motive, there is nothing to be gained by fighting, everything to be gained by uniting.
