Gary the solution is there, it is about energy, we will be driven to it one way or another by nature, or perish as a species. Did you never with or meet folk who really loved their jobs? They do because they love it, not because they get paid for it. Everyone has a job they really enjoy doing, imho, just most folk are not fortunate enough to have landed on the one that rings their bell.
If we are paid enough to be free to choose, it follows we will quickly find our niche.
The thing is, the public are owed for good work already done by sunlight.

The confusion by governments over who owes what to whom, is due to an error of science, the failure to mathematically sign energy, positive from source (the sun) negative at sink (Earth). This isn't a small error, it is huge and insurmountable, getting worse / better every year, depending on whether we think the error was a good or bad thing.
