Firstly if the input energy is from the sun, a figure of 0.45KWhrs not converted means 0.65KWhrs is lost to heat. But look, 0.45KWhrs converted is infinitely better than nothing converted. If the sun was not used to do this, the whole KWhr goes to heat.

Every kg of hydrogen produced is 33KWhrs of stored energy, and this is heat energy removed from the sun, regardless of efficiency. A typical 2.4KWhr electrolyser running continuously produces 1kg hydrogen every 24hrs.

This is not an expensive unit, electrolysers are mass produced in China just like everything else, have a look on alibaba, they are everywhere.

120 scientists expressing such strongly held misconceptions doesn't do hydrogen so much harm as their own reputations. I bet if you check their work histories, most will have worked for the fossil fuels industry in the past, or have ambitions to work for such in the future, if not even working for them right now.

A scientist working on current mainstream academic research on hydrogen may not even realise that indirectly they work for the fossil fuels industry, because all hydrogen research funding more or less comes from the fossil fuels industry.

This gives them all a very large conflict of interest that they might not even be aware of. But it fully explains the misinformation campaign which is obviously levelled at hydrogen, now its coming into the frame via solar energy as a real contender, that will absolutely show fossil fuels to be finished, in comparison, there are many god-signs from nature which are being brushed under the carpet by the anti-hydrogen lobby.

Wake up Will, you are falling for one of the oldest misinformation campaigns in the history of fossil fuels.

Also, another very powerful lobby not yet seen in opposition, but has to be, is the financial industry. Hydrogen, again when produced only from sunlight, is valuable saleable commodity. Imagine, if lots of people, ordinary every day people were producing hydrogen from domestic and community based solar, selling this to aerospace (Who absolutely need it, aerospace will never be kept flying on batteries), everyone would be making a lot of money from something that required no labor of extraction. Notice all money is currently issued as debt, which requires work to be done, to repay the debt.

What money is there issued on potentially very high volumes of sales of hydrogen to aerospace by domestic and community solar?

None.

There is no money currently issued for any historical economic product created from solar, and yet there has been an awful lot of economic activity powered by it. And it grows every day, relentlessly, we are moving more and more to the cheapest form of energy, the only one delivered for free by an external donor to the planet, nothing asked in return, not for a single joule, never mind trillions of KWhrs already put to use.

So, as money is only issued on energy from extracted sources (Monetised destruction), and this scales down as more and more of it gets replaced by energy from the only creative energy source, the only one that can be used to reduce temperature, wihilst this true creation, reducing entropy and thus temperature fails to be monetised, the energy value has to disappear from money.

Notice money of any value is energy, always physically, energy is what quantifies what can be done with money. This is the real physical reason for inflation.

Notice this is the only way for money to represent solar energy. This is the only way to transmit solar energy into the economy in a way that people actually get the benefit from it, whcih are substantial, more than we can understand until we actually monetise it.

This is why I write incessantly about solar indexed stimulus, and why its the only solution, and where hydrogen fits into "Money-fuel tree architecture", and how that fits into a general Energy Polarity Multiplier Framework, to show why everything done by extracted energy has to end in tears, its never creation, just energy pushed around to make some priveliged rich, at expense of masses of others on the other side of the planet, its a zero sum game by definition, and its about done, whereas the next era will be solar powered, infinitely scaleable, with endless money issued to all people for free, no work required.

This is the world that ends capitalism, and of course the financial industry doesn't want it, so will try to trash any and all truth about it.

The truth is that the scarcity and impoverishment, and actually genocide, is all unnecessary, but worse it even hits the pockets of the rich, being "Richest" on a dying planet, amongst widescale human misery isn't very rich at all, and definitely not very clever.

If you doubt this, here is how to work it out for yourself:
