Erik thanks for this, I couldn't help noticing some of the same observations, but you've done a lot more research on that front, thanks the comprehensive overview.
But a small detail missed, which I hope is incredibly relevant, maybe even saving the day, is the energy and climate problem.
War will not fix this, quite the opposite, war would be the final tipping point, the effects of it already in Ukraine are already beginning to show.
Collaboration, is the only way we will fix it.
Meantime nature is clobbering us with inflation in a way which never happened before either.
Conventional economists are claiming this to be due to the age old historically known problem of dilution of capital.
In other words they are claiming too much money has been issued for free, during things like covid.
But when we do the system analysis including energy, we see a new physical player is acting in the economy in ways which are yet to be accepted by conventional economists, and even many conventional scientists.
Creation of product is now leading issue of money, not the other way round, as it was historically before arrival of the new player, solar energy.
Economic product from this is already acting In the economy, but no money is issued on this, money is only issued as debt, which is a promise to repay, whilst the sun does not ask for repayment, or any return on the Joules it emits, therefore money issued which comes with demands to repay, or for other return per Joule yielded, can't monetise Joules received for free.
People will argue solar does have cost, by the infrastructure put up to receive it, but the important thing to note is that this is not per Joule emitted, therefore is not part of any sensible calculation.
Cost of infrastructure is capital, whilst product creation from solar is an endless function of time, given infrastructure life can be extended indefinitely using a small portion of the product created for free.
Notice this is like how a tree works, it replaces it's leaves, and even scales up, using part of the energy it receives from the sun.
This is something truly new that we will be pushed to, sooner or later, if war does not terminate it, and us, beforehand.
Moving to it, effectively, will involve collaboration between all parties.
Notice also banks and major holders of capital are motivated towards war, by historically profiting from both sides fighting.
But solar energy, by this inflation, and the only way of combating it's effects, issue of free money, has to devalue all capital, one way or another.
Removal of that driver of war, is happening rapidly, the clutch of profit used historically to drag energy up from Earth is already slipping badly, dissipating itself now more energy than can be withdrawn from Earth, it is a hyperobject which will act suddenly on all parties, removing their power to wage war, it seems to me.
What we are seeing looks like a birth, of humanity as a species into a new non-profit donated energy era, which will only work by an infinite donation based economy.
By birth I mean anything born from dependence on the energy of its mother host or egg, to the energy of the environment of such.
The biggest risk to that birth, looks like abortion, by war.
