Elon's biggest problem is he doesn't seem to understand the effect profit has on energy, so he doesn't seem to know how to do things in world without profit, or how to convert the world to no longer needing profit.
Ask yourself this; would he keep doing what he does of there was no profit in it? This is the test of real creators, it seems to me, would they keep doing it, if it wasn't just for the money.
