Cool story thanks for posting. The holey can full of hydrogen trick was one of my fav science gags also, a friend and I used to repeat it over and over in all variations using town gas in a giant catering oxo tin, filled from our cooker at home, it worked a treat.
I love the pic of the model "A" also, agree completely with the text there, it is a very pretty car, still "The most attractive lady's car ever offered to the public", imho, and who would have guessed looking at it, it was electric.
As you say, things seem to be going round and round.
To me we got caught in a loop, around 1900, when the opportunity was missed to fund Tesla's Wardenclyffe project to completion.
I am sure he would have delivered what he promised, one way or another, free energy for all, with something like internet connectivity.
If we'd supported him to do that, then we would have had no world wars, probably no cancer, definitely no nuclear power or weapons, we would have left oil long behind, Tesla, Einstein and countless unknown geniuses lost as kids in wars famine and pandemics, might have been still with us, flying to the stars.
What a mess we have to sort out, just to survive for now instead.
