AR is obviously something great to play with in the form of limited local environments, but I am still of a mind that it can never really achieve its full potential until it is combined with a worldwide VR digital twin. This would enable all manner of superhuman use cases, even encouraging people to focus on each other again, instead of away from one another at their own distractions (screens), as so many are complaining about now.

I believe this could be very rapidly developed with world changing results if the right kind of project were to meet with the right kind of support. AR glasses could very quickly become the new must-have personal smart items, replacing even mobile phones.

Imagine how that will blend with 5G. I bet China is already thinking along those lines too.
