Come on, it is ridiculous to claim we can't fix things by plugging into the sun, the only real source of energy.
Earth is like a battery, we just discharged it a bit.
Now we need to recharge it again, and the only way to do that is by using technology to plug more efficiently into the great mains socket in the sky, the sun.
Arguing otherwise is like saying a chicken shouldn't waste any effort trying to break out of its egg.
