Brad, those who follow the link I provided will easily see that the standards are about much more than just a code review, so I would say here, rather than casting any doubt on my own credentials and experience as you might intend, instead you simply expose your own lack of research, and thus also, your own lack of experience.

The standards are about auditing the processes used throughout the development and testing of the software, as well as the software itself. It is those things which are audited by FAA, CAA, Eurocontrol, or whoever else has authority in the jurisdiction of the development, and it is those things that make flight qualified software many times more expensive to produce than any other form of software, high level, low level, subcontracted, or otherwise.

Attempting to cast doubt on the integrity of a single certified avionics manufacturer’s software, is actually an attempt to cast doubt on the software of the whole aircraft industry worldwide, and their many decades of experience, because they all, without exception, are required to conform to the same very rigorous standard.

Anyone in the industry knows this.
