Because CO2 misses the point. It always has. CO2 is only a multiplier of the initial harmful action - the release of energy from materials and non heat energy fields in Earth, to heat, the same heat as would have existed had the energy never been put to use by nature in the first place.
The fixation with CO2 is a deliberate distraction from the real issue. The distraction makes profit, but fixing the problem does not, and profit is fully dependent on energy extracted as above.
It is like fixing cancer, no more profit can be made after the fix.
