Beautifully put, thanks for posting.

I commuted weekly by plane in my last contract of employment (Chartered Engineer, aerospace).

The only airline that could fly me there shut within weeks of the first lockdown, earlier this year.

Since then I haven’t seen any real sign of things recovering to a level where another contract could arise.

But to be honest, I was never under any false illusions, it was obvious all industry was heading for a fall for years.

I was glad of the rest when it came, and still am, though I wish it hadn’t come with the ongoing deaths of thousands.

I am in a position that the damage done to my own personal finances from loss of conventional work seems manageable, at least for a while, with government help of course, both for myself and 17 year old daughter, who lives with me now.

Items like yours, encouraging how best to interpret change as opportunity, rather than defeat, are very necessary, I think.

Seeing more thinking like us gives us strength, which will see us through to a good outcome, I believe.

I do still have ambitions, maybe even bigger than ever, as you indicated, genuine interest in the collective is a far bigger objective than any for the individual.

Thanks again for posting.
