As long as there is dishonesty and lies in the system, it's physically unsustainable.
Anyone can work that out mathematically by noticing lies are a kind of destruction, destruction of information, and there is a mathematical relationship between construction / destruction of information and temperature.
Its called Landauer's Principle, and it was Lab tested to be true around 2010.
So the universe always had a lie detector.
Relentlessly rising planetary temperature has to mean a lot of lies told.
We live by lies, and a lying, relentlessly destroying human system.
We shouldn't see this as just a moral problem, but actually an existential, physical problem.
Its so profound most of us don't even know we are part of it, all of us, whether we like it or not, because effectively we live by a system of energy slavery.
It depends on constant scarcification of energy.
Again this is a kind of definition of destruction, but still most don't see it, because maybe we don't want to see it.
Its interesting when we try to have a discussion on this subject, which is about the whole system, there is generally a reaction of boredom, or wishing to change the subject, or distraction.
I've often been accused of changing the subject, or of distraction myself, by steering conversations on climate change towards the much more fundamental problem of energy scarcification, at the root of the climate problem.
Stop the lying, and we fix the climate problem.
You can read much more in my story titled "Forget Greenhouse Gases", but you probably won't want to, right? :)
Profit, is a dishonest energy lie.
We might see energy is the base currency of nature, and this is obviously a commons.
We started commoditising it as far back as the old testament, the celebrated record of seven years hoarding grain on the instructions of a burning bush might have been the first recorded incident of energy commodification.
