Any other critical Systems Engineer, besides me, will tell you that making systems robust is all about building in redundancy. We are usually happy with N+4 redundancy for space applications. The internet, and Bitcoin are examples of N+many thousands redundancy. Both those things are the most robust systems ever built.

A worldwide distributed, joined up power grid would be equally unbreakable. If any part is taken out, the remainder continues until the damaged part can be repaired.

No single corporate has yet managed to sieze control of the internet or Bitcoin yet, it remains to be seen if that is possible, but, it might help to realise that profit is no longer possible, if there is only one business, so even if it did happen, it would not be long before the business drops into non profit mode, falling into the hands of the people around the world.

I think we just need to have more faith in our fellow humans dude.
