Another clickbait article showing what is wrong with renewables.
It looks like you are trying to raise investor confidence in windpower, when maybe that is flagging.
The energy needed is the energy that heats if we don't use it, the energy donated from off-planet, the energy that created everything we know, including the other things that used it, like plants etc.
Windpower is just more energy colonialism, energy drawn from the planet that never complains until it really cops.
Look at the energy flow diagram of a single wind turbine, it has a flow coming out for energy converted to heat in the environment, an energy flow coming out for the energy yielded to us, and an energy flow going in, from the wind.
That heat component is heat which would not be generated if we didnt use the power of the wind.
Compare with solar, we see the same three energy flows, but this time the energy flow going in, all of it, is energy taken out of a source which heats if we don't use it.
See the difference, windpower starts with a positive temperature impulse, solar power starts with a negative temperature impulse.
Might not seem like much, but then notice multipliers apply to each case, everything done by windpower has to add to more heat impulse, whereas the opposite is true of solar.

I've said elsewhere windpower is a small evil compared with fossil fuels, but if it comes at the expense of solar, actually it's pretty serious, because this risks ever having enough solar to meet our minimum energy requirements.
