An emotional article, generating some emotional, mostly sympathetic responses.
Firstly I thank you for your article, as it indicates you detect the growing interest in hydrogen as a threat.
But in the end, what you have expressed is opinion, based on at best, poor data or research.
This is obvious to any of us with any long term technical experience of Systems Engineering, or even just non profit scientific research.
To me, knowing the stakeholder model, your opinion is probably just down to you being financially invested in some way or another in something that might be changed by a hydrogen ecology.
Also, you indicate you have an impression that people seriously arguing for hydrogen are just rival profit driven investors, looking to back something competing against your favored investment, so you aim your criticisms at the profitability of hydrogen, which is an easy target.
Yes hydrogen does not look good for profitability or even efficiency, in the profit driven world, and that is the whole point, which seems to have gone over your head.
Coupled with solar, as it has to be, it will remove all possibilities of profit, by enabling a community based, solar powered, donation based economy, which is the only survivable way out of the profit driven extracted energy dead end we are finding ourselves in.
Sorry if that bursts your investment bubble a little, but its the simple, easily verifiable truth.
Why else do you think that a long practicing Chartered Engineer, who was very highly paid for Systems Engineering Expertise involving all kinds of Engineering Systems including power, jumps ship, around 2017, to embark on years of unpaid research, still maintaining the expensive tools needed to continue the research at own expense, writing 280 odd stories to date in Medium?
Yes I do it to gain something which I will enjoy personally, but that same thing is something I have every desire for you, and my daughter, and Greta Thunberg, and the people dying in Pakistan and all round the world from war and starvation, and even the Russians and Chinese, and my ex wife, to have the same, and that is a truly sustainable, fully survivable, incredibly progressive world, truly rewarding all people for genuine creativity, that we will all really enjoy living in.
I hope that helps enlighten.
