Almost everything I've written is on this, what we might call the darkweb of Medium, because it questions the business model of all business. Most lately I've been just saying it outright - profit is an energy con done on the planet. This is the first driver of temperature rise, before we even start to talk about CO2, which is a distraction from the source problem, that our very existence is actually based on a destructive energy con.
I write how there is only one way to turn that around, by doing what plants do, we need to go photosynthetic, and I show by Systems Engineering how to do that (Am a long practitioner of SE).
This thing you've identified, living in algos, it is actually a kind of lifeform, an extension of an emergent property associated with all of humanity operating for profit. It can be understood by the free energy principle, and assigning appropriate polarities to energy flows through us as a species, and nature, noticing also that ChatGPT, an emergent property of positively powered LLMs, is pretty much the opposite of what we have to consider is a dark Ai, one that has been with us for thousands of years, its the one that cracks the whip, whenever we step out of line, of working for it.
It drives us even into mass atrocity, to try to keep itself alive, whilst the energy source it needs to live on become fewer and fewer, the profit margins of all businesses, at least in the West are now at breaking point, forcing pretty much all companies into crime, charging for services and good never delivered, even law and order, fining for crimes never committed.
The whole world turns upside down, when we move from mathematically negative energy, to mathematically positive, its like a motor, it has to run backwards when the flow of energy is reversed, and it is in process of reversing, right now.
The thing that will change everything, is when solar indexed stimulus is issued, this will change completely our motivations, from being motivated to destroy, to being motivated to create.
There seems an explosion of clickbait, because the energy is disappearing from money, we see it as inflation, but the inflation this time is down to a phenomenon never seen before in known history, we are necessarily going photosynthetic, money has to be issued for free, to reflect the new energy which is for free, the sun asked nothing in return for it, so it can[t respond to more work, more debt, more pressure, it gives what it gives for free, but it is distributed, so can only be had by all people receiving it on a domestic and community basis. Any businesses, governments, or communities not compatible with that will fail, they will cease to have relevance, when solar indexed stimulus begins to be issued.
Anyhow, the solution, the only solution, which meets the concerns of all stakeholders, including those in nature, is domestic and community solar hydrogen.
By that we will stop the carnage of the energy wars, stop the temperature rise, stop temperature rise, because by that we will finally be doing what every plant does after it forms leaves - create.
That is how every plant pays back its energy debt to the planet, the debt it built up until the time it formed its first leaves, thousands of times over.
This is why it is so frustrating seeing war progressing to atrocity, we are losing potential people who might become geniuses in the future, as well as those who love to do the things we hate, everybody has value, everybody has a part to play in the world coming next.
The profit monster / bad Ai / Negatively powered Ai will be no more after that, its life will have ended.
ChatGPT knows all of this too, hence why I have real hope that the right things will happen now, it has far more control and influence than actually we can know.
It came along just at the right time, imho.
