The temperature rise is a direct measure of destruction, it isn't about a CO2 blanket (potentially fatal, profit driven distraction), it's an inverse measure of the energy remaining on the battery that drives all human activity like a motor, in destructive mode.
The motor is approaching stall, because the energy in the battery is running out.
