Ade the problem might have at its root learning by rote.
The for profit system rewards this whilst penalising real learning.
The folk most prone to it can't accept that their learning is not knowledge, they don't actually know much about a subject if they never analysed it, just memorised key parts of it to regurgitate in exams or press statements.
The system tells them over and over they are the cleverest, by rewarding them financially, for working *Most efficiently".
The ideal student is the rote learner, if all we are interested in is efficiency.
The ideal student is the most programmable, therefore most prone to accepting mainstream news without question.
