Ade, Iran doesn't see it as a failure, and neither do the forces that matter, it was mission accomplished for Iran but mainstream news is not telling us this.
The total set of projectiles launched at Israel looks to have been calculated to push the combined allied and Israeli defences to the limit, no more, just enough to prove a point, as well as lower the limit somewhat, in preparation for a much bigger strike that will come next if Israel counter attacks.
The effort of making the defence has lowered the limits, there are less resources remaining now to make further defence.
The real reason that we, and the US are backing away from Israel now might be that we know we can't protect it further, we don't have the firepower.
One missile apparently did hit the aerodrome that sent the attack on the Iranian Embassy, it didn't kill anybody, but it was enough to send the message to all, what the attack was about, why it happened, and that if they wanted to, they could flatten Israel very quick.
The attack was telegraphed by Iran, knowing we would put as much air cover as we could put towards the defence of Isreal, they knew more or less the capability that needed to be overcome by their attack, and it was overcome, because that one missile aimed at the source aerodrome, made it to its target.
If anything it's exposed the weakness of Israel.
