Absolutely. As you’ve indicated, intelligence is a subjective thing. An average internet savvy person now with tools can challenge who we would have considered elite Mathematicians, Scientists, and Engineers a few years ago, in their own domain.

On misinformation, not only that generated on the internet, but also historically, I think people are gaining more more and more ability to recognise it, what drives it, and how to see through it.
