A realist sees that the energy of the sun created everything and all life we know, it seems to me.

Dig into that further and we quickly come to realise that the key to extracting ourselves as a species from what otherwise seems like inevitable extinction, is to put more of the sun's energy to use, in fact to become wholly dependent upon it, like all of nature is.

Some folk have been doing a lot of work to show how technically we can do that.

Are we doomers?
