A fundamental problem is the language of renewables itself.
Solar is the only true power source, the only one that enables us to do work which is additive to nature, not subtractive.
With that, not only do we remove all dependence on Earth resources, but we also physically end capitalism, which is what scares the powers that be, and the reason, presumably that such confusing terminology as "renewables", is doggedly hung onto.
